When we returned from seeing incredibly beautiful, oversized sculptures adorning seemingly ordinary spaces in Italy..I wanted to give it a go...overwhelming at times but all absorbing, glad I did.
The chameleons are coming to life...change, transitioning, camouflage, slow and steady, shifts - in thinking and being and living... the piece is entitled


"Aspirations and the Willingness to Change" points to a new space in time and the need to employ slow and steady shifts in thinking, being and living, to realize it.

Chameleons?! Although my work is always figurative, I often incorporate symbolic icons. These include goldfish, apples, cut-out paper dolls, flippers, stilettos and, as in these examples, chameleons... For me chameleons represent dual energies that make up the individual, light/dark, masculine/feminine, while the chameleons themselves point to transition, change, adaption and self-preservation.
